Chicken and Your Health

Chicken consists of high-quality protein and a relatively low amount of fat, for the most part unsaturated fat, which helps protect against heart disease.

The protein in chicken contains eight essential amino acids, which help the body create new cells and maintain or repair existing cells. The body also uses protein to produce enzymes, which aids digestion, metabolism and the storage of fat.
